Salt and Light – April 22

Greetings from Debrecen,

Thank you for praying for the M.K. who has gone missing, they still have not been able to locate him nor have they had any contact with him. Keep praying for him and especially for the family. I will update you whenever I get any information.

This was a heavy week for us but we are thankful for the people that God has brought into our lives to encourage us. This weekend we have had several opportunities to speak into the lives of some students. We also had a gulyas party and enjoyed spending time with our friends and some new people.

Please continue to pray:

  • Many of you may have seen some of the protests in Hungary in the news. We have not seen anything in Debrecen but there are a lot of people in Budapest which is 2-3 hours from us. Pray that truth and justice will be accomplished and that it would be peaceful.
  • God gave us the opportunity to speak about spiritual things with “G.” Pray that she will think about what she believes about God and be open to the possibility of becoming a Christian. We will have the opportunity to spend time with her and her father this week.
  • “R,” a young lady from the states who is teaching English in Debrecen. We have recently become acquainted with her and we are not sure about her beliefs about God. Pray that she will have a desire to know God.
  • It’s a high-stress time for the medical students as they begin to study for their finals. The students who are believers would depend on God and receive His peace and blessings. The unbelieving students would realize their need for God not just during times of stress but would be open to the possibility of a personal relationship.
  • Arianna is experiencing the stress of school ending and the beginning of finals. Pray for God’s protection, peace and strength for her. She is also planning on going with her church to Boston in May.
  • “M,” whom I have been sharing with – her daughter was bitten by our neighbors’ dogs. Please pray that this would not ruin any opportunities that I have to share with her and that her daughter would heal quickly. Also that our neighbors would take care of their dogs in a timely manner before any more incidents happen.
  • Please pray for Darrel and me as we align/adjust our lives with God’s plan for us and His timing.

Thank you so much!

One of His servants,
Kimberly Hathcock
